Frequently asked questions

  • Kambo is a powerful fire medicine from the sacred tree frog Phyllomedusa bicolor. It contains a unique mix of peptides that act on receptors, neurotransmitters, nerves and even (DNA) cells. This medicine cleanses on a physical and spiritual level, and is known in the Amazon as the “jungle vaccine” because of its detox properties and spiritual power.

  • We obtain our kambo from the Katukina tribe, where one to a maximum of three kambo dots are enough to connect deeply with yourself and release what no longer serves you. Our unique approach integrates indigenous traditions with modern guidance techniques, resulting in a profound experience that helps reduce rumination, anxiety and depressive complaints. You experience more calm and clarity and can focus again on your potential and life goals.

  • Kambo has a wide range of benefits, from killing harmful bacteria and parasites to purifying the blood and supporting the tapering of addictions and medication use. With the powerful kambo of the Katukina tribe and our own way of facilitating kambo ceremonies, you become more aware of this, so that body and mind become one. Without rumination, anxiety, (eating) disorders and depressive complaints, you will experience more calm. From calm comes more clarity, so you can focus again on your potential and on (new) goals: work, relationships, healthier living and above all being in harmony with yourself. Kambo moves through our system and works on all the toxins that block or reduce the functions and flow of our organs. After receiving kambo you flow better again, and when you flow better, your outer world responds to that too. Realising your goals and dreams accelerates after kambo. After the ceremony most participants get an enormous energy boost while experiencing a calm mind at the same time.

Kambo is, by the way, not a hallucinogen. It is a beautiful reset for body and mind!

  • We respect both the frog and your body. Kambo is intense enough because of the fasting and the session itself, so unnecessary suffering is not needed. We have a unique method in which sometimes only one kambo dot is needed, and a maximum of three. This is better for both your body and the frog.
Our special ceremony guides you deep into your core. For three months, from the first day to the last, we support you in coming ever closer to your true self. We also teach you to attune to your participants with the right rapé, the right amount of kambo and the use of sananga. You learn to apply these techniques to yourself first and build a deep connection with the energy of these medicines and yourself. That way you can carry out your ceremonies with full confidence. After our workshop you are one with these medicines from the jungle, which we guarantee to be pure and clean, so you can deliver the best ceremonies.

  • Kambo, also known as Kampu, is named after an ancestral shaman of the Kaxinawá tribe in Peru and Brazil. According to legend, Kampu discovered the healing properties of the frog secretion during a period of despair due to illness in his tribe. The use of kambo by indigenous peoples in South America, including the Asháninka, Yaminawá, Matsés and Katukina groups, has been documented for centuries. It is used to treat various ailments, strengthen the body’s defences and drive out negative energies, called panema.

  • In a shamanic approach, kambo is used not only for its physical benefits, but also for spiritual cleansing and strengthening. Shamans believe that kambo helps remove negative energies and sharpen the senses, which makes it particularly useful for hunters and for gaining deep spiritual insights.

  • Much kambo is no longer harvested in a sacred way. That is why we stand for purity in our workshop. The kambo frog is in high demand, causing these animals to suffer unnecessarily and people to apply kambo without the right intention. Indigenous cultures also see the financial benefit, which is of course rightfully theirs, but this can lead to kambo of low quality and with the wrong energy.

  • We combine indigenous traditions with our Western perspective on medicines, stress, illnesses and contraindicated medication and health problems. Ultimately you, as a safe facilitator, must be someone who is willing to answer questions and with whom your clients feel at ease. You must make their wellbeing a priority and be honest with them about the risks and how you will work to minimise them. Many facilitators appear to have had little or no indigenous training, and the modern perspective is often far removed from the old traditions. Even modern qualifications, such as those offered by the IAKP, give no guarantee of reliability with a medicine we know so little about.

This is one of the reasons why we developed this training and will guide you through it.
